You will help develop and use in situ rigs to study the influence of shale composition and texture on the fracture behaviour, together with changes in permeability and fluid flow during the process. You will analyse time resolved 3D images using advanced image processing. You will be working as part of a team of PDRAs and PhD students with strong experience in tomography, image analysis and modelling; as well as providing geological insight.

You will be working with Prof. Peter D. Lee in the School of Materials (SOM), as well as Prof. Kevin Taylor and others in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES).
